ABOUT CARMIE
Carmela Marie Zink
The bride-to-be is a graduate of Lincoln East High School and earned her bachelor of arts degree from Stony Brook University in 2003. She also earned a masters degree from Adelphi University in Elementary Education in 2006. She is currently a fourth grade teacher at Fairfield Elementary School in Massapequa, N.Y. She is the daughter of Walter and Carol Zink of Lincoln.

ABOUT ROB
Robert Emmerich, Jr.
The groom-to-be is a graduate of Patchogue-Medford High School and earned his bachelor of science degree from Cornell University in 1991. He also received his masters degree from Stony Brook University in 1995. He is the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Annual Giving at Stony Brook University. His parents are Kathy and Robert Emmerich Sr. of Melbourne, Fla. Rob has been working at Stony Brook for the past 10 years.

HOW WE MET
Carmie and Rob met at Stony Brook University in the Fall of 1999 and began dating in the winter of 2004. Carmie worked in the Office of Athletic Communications and upon graduation, Rob helped her get an internship at Cornell University. Only a few months later, Carmie returned to Long Island to visit her alma mater and some of her college friends. After several dates that led to a long distance relationship, Carmie returned to Long Island to pursue a masters degree. The rest, as they say, is history.
